2011 Tournament Info

Ok we’re all set (except for the fact that team Optima’s female has fallen ill, and we’re desperately scrambling for a female). Please have your teams arrive at Veterans park and set nets at 8:30, managers meeting is at 8:45, and play will begin at 9:00. Attachment shows final standings, and a layout of nets that’s slightly different than the one Jay sent (though the background is not nearly as pretty), that is how we setup last year, and what we’ll need this year to accommodate all of the teams. Saber has the refreshments again (thanks Jim), and Steve Hirsh is finalizing the afterparty details with Thomas Street as we speak (thanks Steve). We will have final afterparty details in the morning. Any other questions, or if I’ve missed anything, shoot me a reply, or I’ll see you tomorrow. Congratulations to Casual Sets, Kimley Horn, and Shook Kelley, our regular season winners in each division.

Habitat for Humanity Charity Tournament

If you are interested…

Mud volleyball tournament benefiting Habitat for Humanity Charlotte.

The tournament is in it’s 5th year with an expected 100 teams participating. Last year we had 73 teams and raised over $15,000 for Habitat through company sponsorships, team registrations, and beer and food sales. The Habitat Young Professionals group has organized and run the tournament for the past 3 years, and we are hoping to make this year the best so far. Also, I work for Pease Engineering & Architecture. I’m not sure if you know anyone at the firm, but we had a blast last year and are definitely in for a team and sponsorship this year.

The tournament will be Sunday, June 5 starting at 1pm at the Metrolina Expo Center off Statesville Road in Charlotte. Our tournament website www.habitatmudvolleyball.org has more specific information including past years photos, pricing and other team information.
